17 Million Euros Allocated for Police Equipment and Security Services
The Baden-Württemberg government has announced a significant investment of 17 million euros in the modernization of the Baden-Württemberg Police. This investment aims to ensure that the police can operate under the best possible conditions to maintain the high level of security in the region.
Interior Minister Thomas Strobl stated that the investment is necessary to renew, replace, and expand the protective and deployment equipment of police officers. The funds will be allocated across various areas, including evidence securing and documentation vehicles and trucks, drones, special units, public relations, and more.
Approximately 4.9 million euros will be spent on evidence securing and documentation vehicles and trucks. This investment will help enhance the police's ability to collect and secure evidence efficiently.
The further development of drones, including the establishment of a fleet management system and the acquisition of police drones and drone defense technology, will cost approximately 540,000 euros. This investment in drone technology will aid the police in various operations, such as search and rescue missions, traffic management, and crime scene investigations.
For the modernization of the technical equipment of the special units in Baden-Württemberg in 2025, approximately 2.8 million euros are provided for the acquisition of application, communication, and special technology, as well as special clothing. This investment will equip the special units with the necessary tools to handle high-risk situations effectively.
Approximately 220,000 euros will be used to promote technology and measures for public relations, including the technical optimization of the police Baden-Württemberg's internet presence and the acquisition of media products for image cultivation and recruitment advertising. This investment will help improve the police's public image and attract more talented individuals to join the force.
The renewal and further development of the technical equipment of the criminal police will cost approximately 840,000 euros. This investment will provide the criminal police with the latest technology to combat crime more effectively.
Special equipment, including spectrometers, a DNA robot street, and X-ray systems, will be renewed at a cost of approximately 1.5 million euros. These advanced tools will aid the police in forensic investigations, helping to solve crimes more efficiently.
Powerful flashlights, hearing protection technology, and ballistic protective equipment for the regional police headquarters will cost approximately 3.5 million euros. This equipment will ensure the safety and well-being of the police officers on duty.
Approximately 1.6 million euros will be used to renew and improve the protective and deployment equipment of the regional police headquarters' alarm companies. This investment will help ensure the readiness and efficiency of the police's rapid response units.
Police stations can use approximately 500,000 euros to acquire individual equipment items. This allocation allows each police station to tailor their equipment to their specific needs.
Lastly, approximately 670,000 euros will be spent on the equipment of the police headquarters deployment, which can be used for communication and application technology. This investment will enhance the police's ability to communicate and coordinate during operations.
