2026 Volvo EX30 Cross Country embodies a rugged, compact electric vehicle offering from Volvo.
The Swedish automaker Volvo has announced that its new electric subcompact crossover, the EX30 Cross Country, will be available in U.S. showrooms later in 2025. This adventure-ready vehicle is one of five new models that Volvo plans to introduce in 2025.
The EX30 Cross Country will come equipped with a standard Twin Motor all-wheel-drive powertrain, providing excellent performance on various terrains. It will feature increased ground clearance, 18-inch wheels, and can be fitted with all-terrain tires for added capability.
The vehicle is expected to use a 69-kwh battery, similar to other EX30 models, ensuring a long driving range. In addition, a long-range plug-in hybrid model is also expected to be released in 2025, offering even more options for environmentally-conscious consumers.
The production location for the EX30 Cross Country has not yet been confirmed. However, it is likely that some units will be manufactured at Volvo’s factory in China, while others may be sourced from the Belgian plant to avoid tariffs. Volvo plans to begin EX30 production at the Belgian plant in the first half of 2025.
The interior design of the EX30 Cross Country remains unchanged from the regular EX30, offering a comfortable and modern cabin. The infotainment system features Google built-in, providing seamless integration with various Google services.
The EX30 Cross Country offers ample storage space, including extra-large compartments in the doors and a sliding central storage tunnel. A guide with measurements helps with packing large objects in the cargo area.
Volvo also plans to offer Cross Country Experience packages with additional accessories such as a load carrier, roof basket, and mudflaps. The exterior of the EX30 Cross Country features dark panels at the front and rear, dark wheel arch protectors, and skid plates, giving it a rugged and capable appearance.
The front panel of the EX30 Cross Country features a topographic representation of the Kebnekaise mountain range in northern Sweden, a nod to Volvo's Scandinavian heritage.
Pricing information for the EX30 Cross Country will be announced closer to the market launch. Another new Volvo arriving in 2025 is an electric midsize sedan, the ES90. The EX30 Cross Country is scheduled to be available in U.S. showrooms later in 2025, likely as a 2026 model.
