2019 World Series of Poker (WSOP) to Offer Exciting New Events and Formats

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has unveiled its plans for the 2019 tournament, promising an enticing collection of new structures, formats, and events. The mega poker tournament, operated by Caesars Interactive Entertainment, revealed a sneak peek into its schedule, anticipating a prize pool of over $200 million.

This year, the WSOP has expanded its offerings with the addition of the Mini Main Event, an all-new Colossus, and the Super Turbo Bounty. Moreover, all No-Limit Hold'em (NLH) events will now feature the big blind ante. The innovative 'Bracelet Winner Only' event has also been introduced, as well as a golden anniversary tribute event, the $500 'Golden Event' (Big 50 NLHE).

Recent announcements have finalized the 2019 WSOP schedule, which will take place from the 28th of May to the 16th of July at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The schedule includes six $600-$800 NLH and Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) events, culminating in the $600 Deepstack Championship with a $500,000 guarantee on the 25th of June. Additionally, a charity event, the $500 'SALUTE to Warriors,' honoring US military service members will take place on the 2nd of July, with proceeds going to veteran organizations.

According to Jack Effel, Vice President of WSOP, "We invite everyone who shares a love for the game of poker to join us for our golden anniversary. We are confident you will find an event or two to your liking, and hopefully one that allows you to raise the gold bracelet over your head at the end."

The WSOP has provided options for every poker enthusiast, with buy-ins starting as low as $70. The small-stakes one-day, non-bracelet deep stack series of events will also reappear this year, featuring daily games like $250 NLHE, $200 NLHE, $400 NLHE, and $150 NLHE. The $250 PLO will run every Sunday from the 2nd of June to the 14th of July.
