A 42-year-old individual was apprehended after allegedly sexually harassing a minor at the Offenbach marketplace.
In the heart of Offenbach, an unsettling incident unfolded last Thursday evening at the market square. A 42-year-old man is suspected of sexually harassing a 16-year-old girl.
The incident occurred around 22:20 at a bus stop on the market square. According to reports, the suspect initially approached the young girl, sat very close to her, and made her feel uncomfortable. The suspect then escalated his actions, following her and pulling her towards him by her arm.
Fortunately, a witness intervened decisively, helping the girl to free herself from the suspect's grip and telling him not to touch her. The police patrol was alerted and arrived shortly afterwards, ending the situation.
The suspect was apprehended at the scene and brought to the police station by the officers. A blood test for alcohol was ordered for the suspect.
The investigation against the suspect for the suspected sexual harassment under ยง 182 of the Criminal Code is ongoing. The police are asking for the public's help in finding further possible witnesses for the incident. The suspect, who could have been staying near or around the Offenbach marketplace area before the arrest, is currently under investigation by the criminal police. The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
