A birthday gift took the form of a helicopter flight.
In a tragic incident, a Bell 206 helicopter, owned by Michael Roth's company for tourist flights in the city, crashed into the Hudson River on Thursday afternoon. Emergency services arrived at the scene with numerous boats, but unfortunately, the occupants of the helicopter did not survive.
Video footage and photos obtained from the scene suggest that the helicopter was upside down in the air before it crashed. Speculation has arisen that the helicopter may have broken apart in mid-air, although the exact cause of the crash remains unclear.
Another helicopter from the same company spotted the crashed helicopter in the Hudson River from the air. The pilot of the helicopter had called to say he needed fuel and was going to land, but did not return for 20 minutes.
Agustin Escobar, the global CEO of Siemens' rail infrastructure division, was born in 1972. Although there is no direct connection between Escobar and the helicopter crash, it is worth noting that he is a prominent figure in the transportation industry.
The crash site was extensively investigated by emergency services, and the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives in this tragic incident.
As the investigation continues, more information will likely become available. We will keep you updated as new details emerge.
