A newly introduced programme stirs up excitement at Apollo's variety show

The Apollo Varieté is thrilling audiences with its extended run of the show "Manhattan Madness" until April 6th. This vibrant production offers a unique blend of music, comedy, and breathtaking acrobatics that pays homage to the CBGB club scene and the punk and new wave movement.

At the heart of the show are captivating performances. Twin sisters Jenny and Sara, known as Vilja, mesmerise with their astonishing contortions as a duo on the aerial hoop. Uliana Khavrona impresses with her mesmerising hula hoop act, while Lucas Suarez showcases his incredible feats on the straps as a handstand artist.

The live band, playing music from the 70s, sets the perfect atmosphere. Singer Elly Rowbotham, the first in the 9-year history of the Apollo rock shows, belts out hits from Blondie and Patti Smith, donning appropriate outfits for each performance. Ruben Claro, an Australian rock star, lends his support to Elly Rowbotham.

Portuguese comedian César enchants the audience with his comedy acts, providing a humorous counterpoint to the more high-energy performances. The Apollo ballet ensures smooth transitions with constantly changing costumes, adding an elegant touch to the show.

Adrian Paul-Roncalli, a creative professional involved in the conception and production of the "Manhattan Madness" show, performs a roller skating act at the beginning of the show with Uliana Khavrona. He also contributes guitar riffs to the production.
