Despite the setbacks, Steinbrook's determination never wavered. He built a successful career in real estate and other entrepreneurial endeavors for over ten years before returning to poker this year. With 60 players left in the event, Steinbrook felt he had a good edge and reads at the table. He stood in sixth place during the final table, but things took a dramatic turn when he found himself heads-up against Jamar Lejust with a nearly 5-1 chip disadvantage.
However, Steinbrook's resilience shone through, as he doubled twice to take the chip lead from Lejust. In a nail-biting finale, Steinbrook won the event with king-ten against Lejust's queen-eight, securing the biggest score of his career and the coveted WSOPC ring.
The $400 Mini Main Event attracted 3,949 entries, creating a prize pool of $1,303,170. A total of 199 players advanced to Sunday's Day 2, with everyone aiming for the first-place prize of $148,013.
Steinbrook, reflecting on his journey, attributes his win to his faith. He believes he can win any tournament he plays, and his comeback story serves as an inspiration to many in the poker community.
