Accelerated Completion and Launch of R10 Circle Road for Public Use Imminent

The construction of a sustainable rainwater management system, in the form of a retention basin, marked the beginning of 2024 on district road R10, between Schloss Haus and Mooshof. This comprehensive construction measure, completed ahead of schedule on August 6, 2025, represents an investment in future-proof infrastructure in the southern district.

The expansion of the roadway, along with the modern rainwater retention and improved drainage, are prime examples of sustainable planning and careful action. The 2.740-meter-long section of the road has been reopened to traffic, with its width expanded from 5.50 meters to 6.50 meters in the area of the full expansion. On both sides of the expanded road, 1.50-meter-wide shoulders have been added for safety and convenience.

The construction work was carried out by Fahrner Bauunternehmung GmbH from Barbing. The total construction costs for this project amounted to approximately 1.5 million euros, with funding provided under the Bavarian Municipal Traffic Financing Act.

In addition to the roadway upgrades, the roadside drainage system was also redesigned, including ditches up to two meters wide. A sedimentation plant with partial flow treatment and bypass was required for regulating the discharge into the Moosgraben.

District Administrator Tanja Schweiger expressed her gratitude to all involved, particularly the construction company and district office employees, for the timely and high-quality implementation of this project. With the successful completion of this measure, an important contribution is being made to the long-term performance of district road R10.

The construction between Mooshof and Hagelstadt was limited to the renewal of the asphalt surface. The top asphalt layers were milled, damaged areas were repaired, and shoulders were restored in this section.

This comprehensive construction measure is a significant step towards ensuring the sustainability and resilience of the district's infrastructure. The community can look forward to improved travel conditions and better rainwater management for years to come.
