Accelerated Completion of the R10 Ring Road - Immediate Traffic Access

The district road R10, stretching approximately 2.740 meters between Schloss Haus and Mooshof, has been reopened to traffic earlier than planned, starting from August 6, 2025. The extensive renovation project, an investment in a future-proof infrastructure in the southern district, has been successfully completed, much to the delight of district administrator Tanja Schweiger.

The expansion of the roadway from its original 5.50 meters to 6.50 meters, coupled with the modernization of the road surface, has been a key part of the project. The improved infrastructure not only provides a smoother driving experience but also ensures the road's long-term performance.

In addition to the roadway expansion, the shoulders on both sides of the road have been enlarged to 1.50 meters each. This modification not only enhances safety but also offers potential for future developments along the roadside.

The construction work, which also included the repair of damaged areas and the restoration of the top asphalt layers, was carried out by Fahrner Bauunternehmung GmbH from Barbing. The total construction costs for the project are estimated to be around 1.5 million euros, with funding provided under the Bavarian Municipal Traffic Financing Act.

To ensure sustainable rainwater management, a retention basin was built towards the end of 2024. This basin, along with a redesigned roadside drainage system, including ditches up to two meters wide, will help regulate the flow of water and prevent potential flooding.

A sedimentation plant with partial flow treatment and bypass was also required to regulate the inflow into the Moosgraben. This plant, along with the other improvements, is an example of sustainable planning and careful action, demonstrating the district's commitment to a greener and more resilient infrastructure.

The completion of this construction measure is an important contribution to the long-term performance of district road R10. The road now stands as a testament to the district's dedication to providing its residents with a reliable and sustainable transport network.
