In the quiet town of Marburg, two significant events unfolded on April 12, causing a stir among locals. The day began with a traffic accident on the L3049 road between Niedereisenhausen and Quotshausen, which resulted in three injuries.
At approximately 14:40 PM, a larger group of motorcycle riders were involved in a collision on the same road. The accident caused severe injuries to a 62-year-old from Siegen and a 34-year-old motorcyclist from Biedenkopf. Both individuals were rushed to nearby hospitals for immediate treatment.
The accident occurred when a following 62-year-old swerved to avoid the crash and collided with the 34-year-old motorcyclist from Biedenkopf. The Gießen man, who was riding his Suzuki, lost control of his vehicle in a curve, resulting in approximately 6,000 euros worth of damages to his vehicle.
Another motorcyclist, a 54-year-old from Siegen, was involved in a separate accident on the L3077 road between Bracht and Rosenthal, sustaining serious injuries. The damages from this accident totaled over 11,600 euros.
As the day progressed, a different type of incident occurred in the town. Unknown thieves targeted the Rewe liquor store in Fronhausen on "Im Boden" street. The thieves arrived in a dark vehicle, presumably a VW Golf, at around 1:15 AM. They parked on the market's parking lot and smashed the sliding doors with an object. Inside the store, the thieves stole tobacco products worth several thousand euros.
The thieves wrapped the stolen tobacco in a large cloth before fleeing. The police are seeking witnesses who noticed a dark vehicle at or near the Rewe store during the night. Anyone with information should contact the Marburg Criminal Police under 06421/406-0.
