Activist advocating against immigrants, who claimed to be shielding children, exposed as a child predator, having previously abused two minor girls.
Anthony Styles, a 59-year-old man from Blackpool, has been exposed as a convicted paedophile after using a fake press pass at a protest last month. Styles, who livestreamed demonstrations against asylum hotels for his YouTube channel AJ Audits, had been actively participating in several social media groups where rallies were organised, including one named For the Children.
Styles was arrested and convicted in 2017 for abusing a girl under 14 years old. He was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison and placed on the sex offenders register for life. In addition, he received an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, the details of which are not public.
The youngest victim in the case was targeted in 1993, and there was an abuse of trust as the family had trusted the care of the little girl to Anthony Styles. The assault left the victim psychologically affected, as she described that this incident has had a significant effect on her. Judge Robert Altham mentioned during sentencing that Styles was alone with the victim in her school uniform.
Styles also has convictions for assaulting a 17-year-old girl and possessing 307 indecent images of children. To hide his convictions from his fellow protesters, he used a fake identity. After information about his dark past spread online, he was booted out of social media groups.
Activists from Stand Up To Racism discovered Anthony Styles' name on his fake press pass and alerted the authorities. It is important to note that there are no credible or verifiable sources indicating that Styles belonged to any groups organizing demonstrations on social media before being excluded due to his past as a child pedophile.
These orders typically ban or limit contact with children, and it is a reminder of the importance of background checks and vigilance in protecting children from predators. The case serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact that such crimes can have on victims and the importance of upholding justice.
