Actor Eric Dane has officially announced his participation in the Emmys, with a focus on his role supporting ALS awareness.

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony is set to take place in Los Angeles on September 15th, 2021, and will be a star-studded event with several celebrities announced as presenters. One of the notable names on the list is Eric Dane, the 52-year-old actor known for his roles in "Euphoria" and "Grey's Anatomy."

Dane has recently disclosed that he is suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a progressive nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. In June 2021, he discussed his symptoms on "Good Morning America," stating that his left side is working but his right side has completely stopped working. He also anticipates that he will lose the use of his left hand in a few months due to his ALS.

Despite his diagnosis, Dane expressed his intention to continue acting. In an interview with "E! News," he stated, "I plan to keep acting until I can no longer do so." His determination is commendable, and his presence at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards is a testament to his resilience.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the TV channel CBS are organizing the event, and it will feature multiple celebrities as presenters. Alongside Dane, stars such as Stephen Colbert (61), a late-night talk show host, Sydney Sweeney (27), Jenna Ortega (22), Catherine Zeta-Jones (55), Lauren Graham (58), and Alexis Bledel (43) will also present. Charlie Hunnam (45) will also be present, soon to be seen as Ed Gein in the Netflix series "Monster: The Story of Ed Gein."

In a unique move, Eric Dane has been engaged by the nonprofit organization I AM ALS for his involvement related to the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards 2023. He will partner with them for a $1 billion research campaign after his absence at the ceremony.

The cult series "Gilmore Girls" will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2025, and the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony promises to be an exciting event filled with nostalgia and anticipation for the future of television.
