Actor Wotan Wilke Möhring replaces Elton in the show "Who knows?"
Wotan Wilke Möhring, known for his roles in northern German "Tatort" and as a musician, is set to take on a new challenge as the team captain for the popular quiz show "Who Knows What?" on ARD. The new episodes will air from October 13th, weekdays at 6 pm and "Who Knows What? XXL" on Saturdays before at 8:15 pm.
Möhring has been a guest on the show several times prior to his new role and has expressed his excitement for gaining new knowledge, funny questions, and lots of fun in the show. He will be working alongside quizmaster Bernhard Hoecker, who was immediately convinced by Möhring's appointment and expressed looking forward to every episode.
Kai Pflaume, host of the show, stated that Möhring was the preferred candidate from the start. Pflaume praised Möhring for being a super likable person with heart, humor, knowledge, ambition, and enthusiasm for solving tricky questions.
Elton, the previous team captain, left the quiz show in April, seeking more time for himself, his family, and his friends. The quiz show has been popular with audiences for years, with the 11th season reaching new records: an average of 20.2 percent market share in the overall audience and 14.6 percent in the 20-59 age group.
Bernhard Hoecker offers advice to Wotan Wilke Möhring: "Just have fun. We're not in high-performance sports, where you have to worry about your place in the team after every loss. We're here for entertainment and fun." Instead of putting pressure on, they should have fun in the new role, Hoecker mentioned.
The new season of "Who Knows What?" is sure to be an exciting one with Möhring at the helm. Tune in to ARD on weekdays at 6 pm and "Who Knows What? XXL" on Saturdays before at 8:15 pm to find out for yourself!
