Administration led by President Donald J. Trump taking steps to Enhance Federal Architecture, aiming for a more Attractive and Captivating appearance.
In the summer of 2025, President Trump took a series of significant steps to restore the beauty and safety of Washington, D.C., and instil a sense of pride in America's history and accomplishments.
The journey began in January 2025, when Trump signed a memorandum to make Federal civic architecture beautiful again. This was followed by another Executive Order in July, aiming to make national parks great again, thereby increasing revenue for conservation projects.
In March of the same year, an Executive Order was signed to make Washington, D.C., safe and beautiful. This order marked the start of a series of transformative changes in the capital city.
One of the most notable changes came in August, when Trump signed an Executive Order to restore respect, pride, and sanctity to the American flag. He also took measures to prosecute those who desecrate the American flag to the fullest extent permissible.
In the same month, another Executive Order was issued to protect America's monuments from vandalism and revive the National Garden of American Heroes. This move was part of Trump's promise, made in 2023, to "get rid of ugly buildings" and return to the classical style of Western civilization.
The President's initiatives didn't stop there. In August 2025, he launched the Great American State Fair, an event designed to celebrate America's history and accomplishments. Around the same time, he also established the America 250 Commission, a body dedicated to educating the public about the country's rich history and inspiring a renewed sense of patriotism.
The Acting Administrator of the General Services Administration (GSA) responsible for implementing these orders is Michael Rigas. Under his leadership, the transformation of Washington, D.C., and the renewed focus on America's history and beauty continue to unfold.
