Affordable Approach to Sending Budget-Friendly Blossoms
Jillian Quint, Editor-in-Chief of a popular lifestyle publication, has shared a tutorial for an elegant and affordable hostess gift - a DIY burlap flower arrangement. Quint, who covers parenting, home, and pop culture, has demonstrated how to transform simple flowers into a stunning centrepiece that's sure to impress.
To create this charming arrangement, you'll need a few basic materials: any flowers, a square of burlap (approximately 18 square inches), a plastic baggie, a rubber band, a fabric ribbon (also about 18 inches long), a card (optional), a clothespin (optional).
Begin by laying down the burlap and securing your flowers in a plastic baggie with a rubber band. This prevents moisture from seeping onto the burlap. Next, fold the bottom corner of the burlap to create a squared end, and bring the bottom half of the burlap up and around the stems.
Clip a small square card with a clothespin for a finishing touch, if desired. To give the arrangement a neat and polished look, fold down the top two corners to soften the edges. Then, bring together the two sides of the fabric and crease the two side corners to run vertically along the flowers.
Finally, tie a knot using the fabric ribbon, securing the flowers in place. The finished product can optionally include a card and a clothespin for decoration.
With this easy-to-follow tutorial, you'll be the favourite houseguest in no time. So why not give it a try for your next gathering? Happy crafting!
