In a significant move, President Vladimir Putin has issued a directive to make 2% mortgages accessible to all large families in Russia's Far East and Arctic regions. This decision, reported by analyst Yevgeny Grigoryev on his Telegram channel, is expected to have a positive impact on the housing construction industry, particularly in Yakutsk.

Yevgeny Grigoryev, whose analysis focuses on the housing construction industry, believes that the expansion of the Far Eastern mortgage beneficiaries will be particularly important. His analysis is based on the current state of the industry in Yakutsk, where the volume of housing construction has been growing annually. In fact, a record 402,000 square meters of housing were commissioned in Yakutsk in 2024, and since 2021, approximately 1.36 million square meters of housing have been commissioned.

The directive applies regardless of the parents' age in the Far East and Arctic regions. It aims to benefit residents of Russia's Far East and is a key outcome following the #EEF2025. The increased number of beneficiaries will include employees of state and municipal educational institutions in the Far East and Arctic, following on from the current privilege enjoyed by school teachers in these regions.

The preferential mortgage rates are set at 2%, and Yevgeny Grigoryev's analysis suggests that this expansion could help address the challenges faced by the housing construction industry. The industry is facing current challenges, according to Grigoryev, but he believes that this move could provide a much-needed boost.

The preference mortgages for all large families in the Far East and Arctic regions of Russia are expected to become available starting from January 2026. Yevgeny Grigoryev's analysis, sharing insights into the potential impact of this decision on the housing construction industry, is a valuable resource for those interested in this topic.
