In a series of escalating events, Ukraine has been hit by a wave of attacks over the past day, causing significant disruption and injuries.

On September 3, 2025, the city of Znamianka in the central Kirovohrad region faced a Russian air attack. Four railway workers were hospitalized, and 28 houses were damaged in the major rail hub. Five people were reported injured in the incident, according to Ukraine's emergency services.

The attacks have resulted in delays for numerous services across the country. Reports indicate up to 7-hour delays for scores of services due to damaged facilities. The western city of Khmelnytskyi, in particular, has experienced significant schedule disruptions in its public transport system.

In the northern region of Chernihiv, an attack caused damage to critical civilian infrastructure, cutting power to 30,000 consumers. Meanwhile, firefighters in the Ivano-Frankivsk region are battling fires that engulfed 9,000 square meters of storage facilities.

As the world watches, both sides in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine continue to deny targeting civilians in their strikes. There was no immediate comment from Russia regarding the recent attacks.

Elsewhere, Polish authorities activated their own and allied aircraft to ensure safety due to the attacks in Ukraine.

In a separate development, Chinese President Xi Jinping warned at an event that the world faced a choice between peace and war. Russian President Vladimir Putin, meanwhile, attended a military parade in Beijing to mark the end of World War Two.

Air raid alerts sounded for hours across nine regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Lviv, and Volyn, as the country braces for further potential attacks.
