AI-powered Computer Vision Company, RealSense, Secures $50 Million in Series A Funding Round

RealSense, a leading company in AI, robotics, biometrics, and computer vision, has announced the successful completion of a $50 million Series A funding round. This significant investment will propel the company forward in its mission to integrate robotics and AI into everyday life, focusing on safety and removing danger and drudgery from human work.

The funding round was led by the private equity firm Tiger Global, with participation from Intel Capital and MediaTek Innovation Fund. This investment will be used to expand RealSense's presence in adjacent and emerging markets, scale manufacturing, sales, and go-to-market (GTM) efforts, and meet the growing demand for humanoid and autonomous mobile robotics (AMRs), as well as AI-based access control and security solutions.

Nadav Orbach, CEO of RealSense, expressed his enthusiasm about the investment, stating, "We aim to build on our leadership position in 3D perception in robotics and adapt to rapidly changing market dynamics." He further added, "Our mission is to enable the world to integrate robotics and AI in everyday life safely, focusing on removing danger and drudgery from human work."

The founding team of RealSense includes Nadav Orbach as CEO, Mark Yahiro as Vice President of Business Development, Mike Nielsen as Vice President of Marketing, Fred Angelopoulos as Vice President of Sales, Guy Halperin as Vice President of Head of R&D, and Eyal Rond as Vice President of AI and Computer Vision. The team has also welcomed Ilan Ofek as Vice President, New Product Introduction and Manufacturing, and Chris Matthieu as Chief Developer Evangelist.

RealSense has seen industry traction in robotics, automation, security, and healthcare, partnering with firms like ANYbotics, Eyesynth, Fit:Match, and Unitree Robotics. The company's global manufacturing technology capabilities ensure consistent quality and product performance, and it works with a broad network of vision system distributors and value-added resellers.

One of the key areas of focus for RealSense is the use of facial biometrics in daily applications such as airport screening and event entry. The company has also developed a new D555 depth camera, featuring next-gen Vision SoC V5 and PoE, highlighting its leadership in embedded vision and edge AI.

With over 3,000 customers worldwide and holding over 80 global patents, RealSense is poised to quadruple the robotics market from $50 billion to over $200 billion in the next six years, as demand for humanoid robots grows over 40% annually. The company will continue to support its existing customers and products, including popular RealSense depth cameras used in 60% of the world's AMRs and humanoid robots.

As RealSense moves forward with this new funding, it is clear that the company is dedicated to its mission of integrating robotics and AI into everyday life, making work safer and more efficient for people around the world.
