Alabama Shakes released their first new track in ten years
Alabama Shakes, the Grammy-winning rock band from Alabama, has made a comeback after a decade-long hiatus. The band, known for their unique blend of soul, rock, and blues, reunited late last year for a surprise set in their hometown of Tuscaloosa.
Following the reunion, Alabama Shakes has released a new single, "Another Life." The track, written by lead singer Brittany Howard, has a comfortable, lived-in quality to it. In a statement, Howard mentioned that "Another Life" is about the lives we carry, the choices we've made, and the connections across time and space.
Brittany Howard spent the years before Alabama Shakes reunited focusing on her solo career and personal growth. She released her solo album "Jaime" in 2019, which won a Grammy for Best Rock Song.
Meanwhile, Alabama Shakes essentially went on hiatus eight years ago. During this time, Howard has had a successful solo career, but the band is now back in action. They are currently on tour and have a brand new album in the works.
In other news, Brittany Howard has also announced a solo album, but details are not yet provided.
