Alleged Intoxication: Soltau Offender; Buchholz (Aller) Charged with Drug-Impaired Driving
On May 22, 2025, a 30-year-old truck driver was stopped by police on "An der Autobahn" street in Heidekreis, Germany, at around 1:50 PM. The incident occurred after the driver was observed swaying on a nearby supermarket parking lot, and a detectable smell of alcohol was noticed.
A breath alcohol test showed a value of 1.45 per thousand for the driver, indicating that he was over the legal limit. A blood sample was taken from the driver, but no information regarding the results of the blood test has been disclosed.
In addition, a urine test conducted on site reacted positively for THC, raising suspicion that the driver may have been under the influence of drugs. The type of drug suspected to be used by the driver is THC, the psychoactive component of cannabis.
The further journey of the 30-year-old truck driver was prohibited, and his driver's license was confiscated. An administrative offenses procedure was initiated against him.
In a separate incident on Lรผneburger Straรe in Soltau on May 22, 2025, at approximately 10:40 AM, a car was driving erratically. A 73-year-old driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and he now faces a criminal trial for this offense. However, the identity of the driver has not been made public.
