Amazon surpasses 250 million Fire TV devices sold and broadens its product range
Amazon Unveils New Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series and More
Amazon has announced a new lineup of smart TVs, including the Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series, Fire TV Soundbar Plus Series, and a redesigned Fire TV 4-Series. This expansion marks a significant step forward in Amazon's mission to combine content-rich entertainment with smart features.
The Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series is Amazon's most powerful immersive smart TV yet. It boasts a cinematic QLED Mini-LED display, delivering up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness and up to 1,344 dimming zones for stunning visuals. The TV's light and color sensor adjusts brightness and color temperature according to the room's lighting conditions, ensuring optimal viewing at all times.
The new Omni Mini-LED Series is the first Amazon-built TV to feature an AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certification, promising a premium gaming experience. It also introduces intelligent picture technology, combining AI with a new advanced light and color sensor to optimize picture details in real time.
In a move to cater to the hearing-impaired community, Amazon and Oticon have collaborated to introduce audio streaming support for hearing aids in the new Omni Mini-LED series. This feature, set to become available in the future according to the context of the new Fire TV Omni Mini-LED launch, will allow customers with ASHA-enabled hearing aids to receive high-quality audio directly to their hearing aids while others listen through the TV's speakers.
The new smart TVs will also expand Fire TV's industry-leading support for the Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA) protocol with Dual Audio. This feature allows users to enjoy their favourite content in two different languages simultaneously, a feature that will be particularly useful for households with multilingual members.
The Omni Mini-LED Series includes built-in far-field technology for hands-free Alexa voice control. Amazon has been working to make TVs smarter for years, and this new feature is a testament to their commitment.
The Fire TV Ambient Experience has also been updated. It now includes a high-fidelity radar sensor, powering a new feature that transforms motion into art. The Ambient Experience offers interactive artwork, joining AI Art and a growing collection of over 2,000 free, gallery-quality images.
Prime Video has also introduced a new feature called X-Ray Recaps, which uses generative AI to summarize what you're watching. This feature aims to help viewers stay engaged and up-to-date with their favourite shows.
The lineup supports future-proof connectivity with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. It also introduces support for Dolby Atmos audio, along with two powerful speakers and up to two built-in subwoofers for an immersive audio experience.
Since 2014, Amazon has sold over 250 million Fire TV devices globally, making smart TVs into Fire TV's fastest-growing business. With the introduction of the new Omni Mini-LED Series, Fire TV Soundbar Plus Series, and redesigned Fire TV 4-Series, Amazon continues to push the boundaries of what smart TVs can do.
Daniel Rausch, vice president of Alexa and Fire TV, expressed his excitement about the new lineup, stating, "We've been working to make TVs smarter for years, and we're thrilled to bring these new, powerful devices to our customers."
