Android 16 release schedule for Samsung devices: Potential timeline for Galaxy S25, S24, and other Galaxy series
Samsung has unveiled a comprehensive update schedule for its One UI 8, based on Android 16, which is set to roll out for a range of Galaxy devices. Here's a breakdown of the anticipated update timeline.
Starting with the Galaxy A series, several devices such as the A56 5G, A36 5G, A55 5G, A54 5G, A53 5G, A52s 5G, A35 5G, A34 5G, A33 5G, A26 5G, A25 5G, A23 5G, A17 5G, A16 5G, and A15 5G are expected to receive the update between September 25 and October 30.
The Galaxy A26 5G is slated for an update on October 2, while the Galaxy A25 5G and A17 5G are expected on October 16. The Galaxy A06 is scheduled for October 23.
For the Galaxy Tab series, the Tab S9 FE+ will receive the update on October 13. The Tab S9+, Tab S9, Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S8+, Tab S8, Tab S8 Ultra, Tab S8 Lite, Tab S10+ 5G, Tab S10 FE 5G, Tab S10 FE+ 5G, Tab S10 Ultra 5G, Tab S10 FE, Tab S10 Ultra, Tab S10+, Tab S6 Lite, and Tab Active 5 are all due for updates between October 1 and October 23.
The Galaxy Watch 4 will receive the update on November 3, with the Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro following suit on October 1 and November 3, respectively. The Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic are also scheduled for updates on October 1 and October 1, respectively. The Watch FE is set for an update on October 1.
In addition, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro 5G is expected to receive the update on November 7. The Galaxy Tab Active 5 is due for an update on October 16.
Samsung's latest devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Galaxy S25 FE, and the Galaxy Tab S11 series, are expected to come with One UI 8 out of the box.
The update is expected to expand to older S-series devices, Galaxy Z foldables, and popular A-series and M-series models. A leaked schedule suggests the stable version of One UI 8 may arrive for the Galaxy S25 series on September 18, 2025, with the update rolling out for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy S24 FE, and more throughout October 2025.
It's important to note that while Samsung has provided a tentative schedule, the actual rollout of the updates may vary by region and carrier. Users are advised to keep their devices updated to ensure they have the latest features and security enhancements.
