In the heart of Munich, there are several furry friends waiting for their forever homes. Here's a round-up of some of the animals currently residing at the city's animal shelter.

Spiky: The Playful Terrier Mix

Spiky, an athletic and playful terrier mix, is on the search for a home that provides clear structures and consistent leadership. Spiky is friendly towards dogs he likes, but he isn't always interested in friendly dog encounters. He does, however, need socialisation to help him grow into a well-rounded companion.

Tiffany: The Indoor-Loving European Shorthair

Tiffany, a friendly and affectionate European shorthair cat, is seeking a home that offers indoor living, ideally with a secure balcony for sunbathing. Tiffany is not compatible with other cats and prefers to have her territory to herself. She can be grumpily reactive if displeased, but her cuddly nature shines through when she's happy.

Nanna and Cody: The Lionhead Rabbits in Need

Munich's animal shelter recently had to surrender a pair of three-month-old lionhead rabbits, Nanna and Cody, due to a lack of space. The shelter strongly advises against acquiring rabbits for children and walking them on a leash, as it can result in injuries, strangulation, wounds, or even amputation. Unfortunately, Nanna lost a leg while being walked on a leash by a child.

Bella: The Resilient Mixed Breed Dog

Bella, a 17 kg, 50 cm tall mixed breed dog, was rescued from Romania and is currently in a training program at Munich's animal shelter. Bella requires consistent guidance from experienced dog owners and support in unfamiliar situations. Despite her challenges, Bella has found a loving home in Bergheim, where she lives with a specially made chair to help her eat properly due to her Megaesophagus condition.

Tiffany: The Overweight Cat in Need of a Diet

Tiffany came to the shelter after her previous owner passed away. This European shorthair cat is overweight and needs to lose some pounds. Ideally, she would find a home with a secure indoor environment, preferably with a balcony for sunbathing.

Bella: The Reserved, Yet Affectionate Dog

Bella is initially reserved around strangers but is open, trusting, and affectionate with her caregivers. She could be rehomed with an existing pet, but compatibility is important. Bella needs a home with experienced dog owners who can provide her with the consistent guidance she requires.

The Munich Shelter's website has many more big and small animals waiting for loving homes. Last year, the shelter rescued 7077 animals, including 438 dogs, 769 cats, and 959 small animals.

Spiky, Tiffany, Bella, Nanna, and Cody are just a few of the animals currently seeking homes at Munich's animal shelter. If you're interested in adopting or learning more about these animals, don't hesitate to reach out to the shelters listed in this article. Your new best friend could be just a phone call away!
