The European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC) is set to return for its 2025 edition, promising an exciting three-day event focused on shaping a sustainable and inclusive future. From the 13th to the 15th of October 2025, participants will gather both in Brussels and online to discuss, learn, and collaborate on key issues that impact regional development.

The event, themed "Shaping Tomorrow, Together", will take place at the Jacques Delors Building and the SQUARE Brussels Congress Centre, with some program points also extending to other EU institutions and regional offices. Over 10,000 participants, including more than 1,000 speakers, are expected to attend.

One of the main highlights of the EWRC 2025 will be the exhibition at SQUARE Brussels, showcasing projects related to education, future skills, and "slow tourism". Additionally, the event will feature workshops, exhibitions, speeches, and networking opportunities, making it an ideal platform for learning from "best practices" and co-shaping European regional policy.

Three central topics for discussions will be "Cohesion and Growth for the Future", "The Right to Stay: unlocking the potential of every territory", and "Cities Building Tomorrow". "Cohesion and Growth for the Future" will focus on sustainable growth through coherent policy and investments in collaboration with local and national actors. "The Right to Stay: unlocking the potential of every territory" will emphasise the importance of infrastructure, education, healthcare, and digital connectivity for people to stay in their home regions. "Cities Building Tomorrow" will focus on innovative urban planning and urban impulses for an inclusive and sustainable future.

Notable workshops will include those presented by "Interreg Europe", such as "Fit4Cooperation", showcasing cross-border cooperation in the Euregio Tirol-Südtirol-Trentino region. The program will also feature thematically-oriented talks and debates, like on the digitalization of public services for resilience strategies.

Registration for participation in the event is open and closes on 30 September 2025. Further information about the event can be found on the European Union's website, the Committee of the Regions' website, and the Lower Austria's website. The event is organised by the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) of the European Commission, with specific organizing bodies involved including the European Federation of Agencies and Regions for Energy and Environment and regional agencies such as the North-West Croatia Regional Energy and Climate Agency for certain event parts.

The winners of the REGIOSTARS Awards 2025 will be announced during a festive ceremony at the event, making it a celebration of regional excellence and innovation. Don't miss out on this opportunity to be part of Europe's largest annual event on regional policy. Participation in the "#EURegionsWeek" is free.
