Annual castle celebration marking the anniversary of the Landshut wedding

The picturesque Sweden meadow and castle courtyard will transform into a vibrant beer garden this June, as the Landshuter Castle Festival returns after a two-year hiatus. This year's event, marking the 550th anniversary of the historic wedding, promises an immersive experience filled with entertainment, music, and history.

The festival, scheduled from Thursday, June 26th to Saturday, June 28th at Burg Trausnitz, will offer a suitable program for children, making it an enjoyable outing for the whole family. Admission prices have been set at twelve euros for adults, with reduced prices of eight euros for students, children under twelve, and people with disabilities. Children under twelve do not need a ticket.

Online ticket sales for the Landshuter Castle Festival will commence exclusively on Saturday, May 24th at 9 AM, available on landshuter-hochzeit.ticket.io. Tickets will also be available at the box office on the day of the event.

The festival will feature concerts by various groups, including the reeves, in the inner courtyard of Burg Trausnitz, the White Hall, and the Georgskapelle. Around 600 performers in historical costumes will participate, bringing the medieval era to life with music, comedy, sword fighting, juggling, and fire-spitting.

Inside the castle, courty and spiritual music of the Middle Ages will be performed, while outside, visitors will be entertained by performers offering medieval music, comedy, and more. This year, a historically documented story will be integrated into the performance, featuring "The Polish Delegation."

Stefan Feigel, 1st Chairman of the organizing association "Die FΓΆrderer" e.V., expressed his pleasure about the event, stating, "The Landshuter Castle Festival is a significant event, shortening the wait for the next performance of the 'Landshuter Hochzeit 1475' in 2027."

For more information about the Landshuter Castle Festival, visit www.landshuter-hochzeit.de. The "Landshuter Hochzeit 1475" was first performed at Burg Trausnitz in 1935 and has since become a cherished tradition in the region.

In 1473, a historic meeting took place on Burg Trausnitz that was essential for the "Landshuter Hochzeit 1475": Duke Ludwig the Rich received a Polish delegation traveling from Krakow to Rome. Later that year, a delegation from Landshut traveled to Poland, and on December 31, 1474, the marriage contract was signed in Radom.

The Landshuter Castle Festival is not only a celebration of history but also a testament to the enduring spirit of tradition and community. So, mark your calendars and get ready to step back in time and experience the magic of the Middle Ages at the Landshuter Castle Festival this June.
