Fire in Hanau's Lamboy District: Resident Hospitalised, Damage Estimated at 150,000 Euros

A fire broke out in a multi-family house in Hanau's Lamboy district on Friday afternoon at around 13:00. The fire was located in the basement, causing heavy smoke that made the house uninhabitable.

Fortunately, all other residents were able to evacuate the building safely before the firefighters arrived. However, a 38-year-old resident was rescued from the second floor due to smoke. She was taken to a hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.

The fire was extinguished by the firefighters, but the damage is estimated to be at least 150,000 euros. Two dogs and three cats were also rescued from the multi-family house.

The police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the fire in Hanau's Lamboy district. The person currently being investigated by the Southeast Hesse Police Directorate in connection with possible custodial negligence related to the fire has not been publicly named.
