Arnsberg's Environmental and Climate Protection Award Returns in 2025
The City of Arnsberg is set to host the Environmental and Climate Protection Award in May 2025, an annual event that has been running since 1987. This prestigious award, organised by the Westenergie Company, is a platform to recognise and reward initiatives that focus on environmental and climate protection.
Over 8,000 projects have been awarded nationwide since the inception of the award, and this year, Arnsberg invites citizens, associations, companies, schools, and kindergartens within the city to participate. Projects should be either completed or in progress to be eligible for the award.
The relevant themes for the award include climate protection and energy, environmental protection and adaptation to climate change, sustainable supply, mobility and traffic, and tourism. Projects that make a significant contribution to these areas are encouraged to apply.
Interested parties can submit their ideas and project proposals before the deadline of September 14, 2025. More information and the application form can be found on the City of Arnsberg's environmental department website.
The prize ceremony for the 2025 award is scheduled for May 2025. The total prize money for the Environmental and Climate Protection Award is €5,000. Westenergie offers financial support to its partner municipalities for the prize.
Arnsberg's Environmental and Climate Protection Award has been awarded in cooperation with Westenergie since 1999. In fact, around 450 cities and municipalities across Germany participate in the prize, awarded annually by the City of Arnsberg and Westenergie Company.
