Approaching the conclusion of the bathing season in Dresden's Public Pools - Approaching Beginning of Outdoor Swimming Season in Dresden
In a recent announcement, the operator of the pools in Dresden has revealed that six outdoor pools will be closing their doors next Sunday. These pools include the Wostra and Cotta, Luftbad Dözschen, Stauseebad Cossebaude, and Naturbad Mockritz, as well as the Waldbad Langebrück and Weixdorf.
The outdoor pool season in Dresden is coming to an end, and five other outdoor pools - the Georg-Arnhold-Bad, Kombibad Prohlis, Strandbad Wostra, Weissig, and Schwimmsportkomplex am Freiberger Platz - will continue their season for an additional week.
Starting next Monday, the Schwimmsportkomplex am Freiberger Platz will extend its opening hours to 10 pm on weekdays and include weekends, following the same extended hours already in effect at the Kombibad Prohlis.
The rest of the indoor pools in Dresden will also follow suit, extending their opening hours to 10 pm on weekdays and including weekends starting September 15, 2025. It is expected that staff from the closing outdoor pools will transition to the indoor pools to maintain operations during the extended winter opening hours.
However, there are no search results available that specify which employees will work from September 1, 2025, in the indoor pools of Dresden who are not already working during the extended winter opening hours.
As the outdoor pools close, Dresden's residents are encouraged to make use of the extended hours at the indoor pools to continue enjoying swimming activities throughout the autumn and winter months.
