Approaching Waters Reach Shishkin Village, According to Onlookers
In a troubling development, water has now reached the towns of Shishkino and Shishkino-Ostrov, according to a report from a local witness. The ongoing water rise in the area has caused concern, with efforts to contain the flooding escalating.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) had previously made attempts to protect Shishkino-Ostrov from flooding, but the water levels have proven to be a formidable challenge. Earlier efforts to save the town from inundation were not successful.
The situation in nearby Burgino is also concerning, with the water level reportedly at 3.05 metres in a volunteers' chat. This indicates that the flooding situation is far from over, and continued vigilance is required.
