Arboreal blaze in Buttstadt, reported by LPI-EF
In the peaceful town of Buttstädt, located within the Sömmerda District, an unfortunate incident occurred over the weekend. Unknown individuals reportedly carried out an arson attack on an approximately 25-meter-high ash tree in Lohwald.
According to the Erfurt Police Headquarters, the perpetrators dug a hole under the tree, poured in an accelerant, and set it ablaze. Fortunately, timely discovery prevented the fire from spreading to other trees. The ash tree suffered damages amounting to around 100 euros.
