Armed burglar steals extensive haul of cigarettes from a gas station, totaling 3,500 packs.
In the early hours of this morning, a gas station on Vennhauser Alley was the scene of a break-in. Two men, aged 32 and 34, were identified as the suspects.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m., and the suspects triggered an alarm while inside the gas station. They made off with approximately 3,500 cigarette packs and baked goods before fleeing the scene.
During their escape, the suspects discarded two large trash bags containing the stolen goods towards the Vennhausen sports field. The police units arrived quickly at the scene and searched the area, eventually apprehending the suspects on Kamper Weg.
The younger suspect, aged 32, was remanded in custody, while the older suspect, aged 34, was released due to lack of grounds for detention. The younger suspect was brought before a judge, and the older suspect was subsequently released.
