In a significant development, federal police officers in Bremen have arrested a 39-year-old woman in connection with a theft and weapons offense. The arrest took place at Bremen Central Station on September 4, 2025, at 16:40 hours.

The arrest was not a coincidence; it was a result of a federal police control. A federal police super recognizer identified the woman in video footage as a previously unknown suspect in a pickpocketing case. The theft occurred after an elderly man's attempt to withdraw cash from an ATM at Bremen Central Station failed.

During the control, the federal police found the ID card and health insurance card of a 78-year-old from Stade on the woman. They also discovered a bank card belonging to another person in her luggage, prompting the Federal Police Inspectorate Bremen to investigate the possibility of further property crimes.

The woman is accused of pretending to show affection during the theft. As a result, she is now facing criminal proceedings for theft and for violating the weapons law, as a prohibited combat knife was found in her possession.

Simon Gruhl, the Press Spokesman for the Federal Police Inspectorate Bremen, confirmed the arrest and provided contact details for further questions regarding the case. His contact details are: Telephone: 0421 16299 - 6101, Mobile: 0172 - 34 67 750, Email: [email protected].

The woman from Bremerhaven is suspected of stealing a 78-year-old's wallet during a train journey on a Tuesday evening in August 2025. The federal police are urging anyone with information related to this case to come forward.
