In an unexpected incident on Thursday afternoon, a 71-year-old man allegedly brandished a pistol during a confrontation on the A1 motorway near Bremen, Germany. The incident occurred at around 3:55 PM, when the victim, a 46-year-old individual, called the emergency number to report the harassment.

According to reports, the harassment took place while the 46-year-old was merging at a rest area near Oyten. The 71-year-old, driving a Porsche, is said to have verbally threatened the victim through the open window, and showed a pistol.

Bremen Police officers, responding to the emergency call, stopped traffic near the Weser Bridge and approached the 71-year-old's Porsche. Upon seeing the 71-year-old reaching for the weapon, which was in the center console, they pulled him out of the car and handcuffed him, causing minor injuries.

During the subsequent search, the officers found a loaded blank-firing pistol in the 71-year-old's possession. The police also discovered an illegal blue light that the 71-year-old was carrying. The blue light found on the 71-year-old was, in fact, illegal.

The 71-year-old man was stopped and various criminal charges, including threat, were filed against him. The police seized his small arms permit and have promised to send a report to the relevant driver's license authority.
