Arms Control and Regulation
In the realm of arms control and disarmament, there are various funding opportunities available for projects and applications that aim to maintain and further develop the existing architecture. Here's a breakdown of what you need to know.
Firstly, funding for these projects can be sourced from both own or third-party funds. While full funding is possible in exceptional cases, it's important to note that there are guidelines and concepts to follow. For instance, the NKU program in NRW offers 24-month projects with up to 50-60% funding.
European and federal programmes such as the GRW, Horizon Europe, ZIM, and hydrogen funding programmes support innovation and climate projects, with a focus on sustainability. Additionally, there are specialized funding compasses for sectors like Zero Waste, continuously overseeing available grants and calls.
To apply, applicants should submit complete applications at least 12 weeks before the start of the measures. The contact information for application submission is provided in the article.
Projects in the conventional area include measures to secure conventional weapons and ammunition from unauthorized access, as well as preventive measures to prevent the proliferation of conventional weapons in post-conflict situations. Funds are used for projects that aim to strengthen international organizations and partner states in the field of arms control.
Measures to mitigate and reduce illegal small arms are also included in projects in the conventional area. Capacity building in partner states is a crucial part of these projects.
In the export control area, the global export control architecture is strengthened through capacity building and exchange of experience.
It's worth noting that cost-based applications are excluded from funding. Project applications require a gender-sensitive approach. Funding can be provided without geographical restrictions.
Applications from individuals are not eligible for funding. The maximum funding is available for the current fiscal year and three subsequent years.
