In a recent development, operatives attached to the Okene Division carried out a raid at a hotel in Oguda village, Okene, following an intelligence-led operation based on a tip-off.

During the raid, a 23-year-old woman named Charity Williams was arrested. The arrest is connected to the ongoing investigation into the Charity Williams case in the Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria.

The operation at Oguda village also led to the recovery of several items, including an axe, a locally made Barretta pistol, one round of 9mm live ammunition, and a cutlass. Four mobile phones and a Techno phone were also recovered during the raid.

Meanwhile, a locally made barrel gun was recovered by operatives attached to the Ofu Division at Ogbakpedo village along the Itobe-Ayingba road, following a separate tip-off about suspected kidnappers in the bush.

The sum of ₦2,047,300 was also recovered during the raids, and hard drugs were found during both operations. The suspected kidnappers fled when the police arrived at the scene, and the search for them is ongoing.

It is alleged that Christopher Kadiri, who booked the hotel room where Charity Williams was arrested, is the prime suspect in criminal activities tied to the case. However, he is currently at large and not arrested. The police are actively pursuing him in connection with the case.

The location of Ogbakpedo village, where the barrel gun, cutlass, and Techno phone were recovered, is notorious for kidnapping activities. The recovery of these items underscores the ongoing efforts by the police to combat crime in the area.

As the investigation into the Charity Williams case continues, the public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. The police are committed to maintaining peace and security in Okene and its surrounding areas.
