Arrest made over alleged break-in accusations in Poland

In Sankt Augustin, Germany, a residential burglary occurred on Burgstraße, Menden, on Tuesday (26th August). The Rhein-Sieg District Police are investigating the case.

According to the Kreispolizeibehörde Rhein-Sieg-Kreis, two suspects, aged 24 and 26, were arrested later that day in connection with the incident. Both are currently provisionally detained.

Neighbors across the street reported observing two young men, one of whom climbed through an open window while the other stood guard on the sidewalk. A 71-year-old resident of the house saw a stranger leaving through an open window around 5:05 PM.

A witness followed the suspects and successfully retrieved a tablet from one of them. The older suspect, a resident of Ruppichteroth, has a history of various offenses, while the younger suspect, who has no fixed address in Germany, has only been previously convicted once.

The identities of the two suspects and the charges they face are not yet disclosed. The suspects will be presented to a judge today (27th August) for a decision on remand, and they will face trial for suspected daytime residential burglary.
