Arrest of Iloilo's Most Wanted Individuals Occurs in Single-Day Police Operations
Two Most Wanted Individuals Arrested in Iloilo Province
In a significant development, Jo, a 20-year-old student, and Paulo, a 54-year-old farmer, were arrested in separate manhunt operations on August 30, 2025. Both individuals were listed as the third and fourth most wanted persons in the province, respectively.
Alias Jo was apprehended in Barangay Poblacion, San Dionisio, by the San Dionisio Municipal Police Station (MPS). His arrest came by virtue of a warrant of arrest for rape, issued on August 26, 2025, by the Regional Trial Court Branch 66, Sixth Judicial Region in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo. No bail was recommended for his case.
On the other hand, Paulo was arrested in Barangay Poblacion, Leon, by the Leon MPS. His arrest was facilitated by a warrant of arrest for four counts of rape, in relation to Republic Act (RA) 7610, issued on August 22, 2025, by Branch 5, Sixth Judicial Region, Family Court in Iloilo City. Once again, no bail was recommended.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, the regional director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), commended the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo) and its operating units for their persistence in arresting fugitives. He stated that the arrests demonstrate PRO 6's unyielding commitment to protect the people and ensure justice is served.
Both Jo and Paulo have been informed of their rights and will be turned over to the issuing courts. The leader of PRO 6 praised the arrests of the most wanted individuals, stating that it shows the office will never tire in pursuing criminals and safeguarding their communities.
