The arrest was made by the specialists of the Düsseldorf Robbery Commission at the suspect's residence in the early morning hours. The operation, which took place in Dieburg and Offenbach am Main, also involved searches at four locations due to indications of illegal war weapons storage.

The searches were conducted by special units, who accompanied police investigators searching nine apartments in Cologne, Neuss, and Dormagen. However, no arrests were made at these locations.

The arrest warrant for the suspect was issued by the Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor's Office, and it is believed that the trace evidence from the July heist pointed to the suspect. The evaluation of the secured evidence from Dieburg and Offenbach am Main continues.
