In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a significant event unfolded at the intersection of West Superior Street and Charles Street in Ottawa. A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of two individuals, Jeffrey Delagarza and Bethany Blue, on multiple charges related to drug possession and delivery.

Jeffrey Delagarza, a 41-year-old resident of Ottawa, was one of the individuals involved in the traffic stop. Delagarza, who was also issued vehicle violations, was charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His co-accused, Bethany Blue, a 32-year-old resident of Marseilles, faced similar charges, including possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Another passenger in the vehicle, Dylan Chaney, a 30-year-old resident of Ottawa, was given a warning for illegal transportation of alcohol.

Delagarza and Blue were taken into custody and transported to the La Salle County Jail. However, the court date for both Delagarza and Blue is not publicly available at this time. The individuals were later released with notices to appear in court.

The traffic stop took place in the midnight hour, underscoring the importance of adhering to traffic laws, even outside of regular business hours. This incident serves as a reminder of the potential consequences of illegal drug activity and the vigilance of local law enforcement in maintaining the safety and well-being of the community.
