Arrests Made in Bad Salzungen - Raid Operations Conducted in Diedorf, Merkers, Ruhla, and Other Gambling Establishments and Gas Stations
Over the past three weeks, a criminal group has been targeting gaming arcades and petrol stations across the German states of Thuringia, Bavaria, and Hesse. The group, consisting of three men and one woman, has been identified and is suspected of systematically conducting these robberies for financial gain.
The series of robberies came to a head on 24th July 2025, when two perpetrators robbed a gaming arcade in Bad Kissingen, Bavaria. They demanded cash and fled with their loot. A warrant for their arrest was issued by the Meiningen District Court following a hearing on Thursday, 31st July 2025.
The group, aged between 26 and 42, were taken to different prisons after their arrests. Four arrests were made in the Bad Salzungen area on Wednesday afternoon, in cooperation with the police in Suhl and the special forces of the Thuringian State Criminal Police.
Intensive investigations by multiple police forces led to the suspicion of a criminal group from the South Thuringian region. The investigations were already underway regarding the incident in Merkers, Thuringia, where two unknown perpetrators threatened an employee and a guest while demanding cash, brandishing a pistol-like object.

Two days later, an armed robbery occurred at a petrol station in Wildeck-Obersuhl, Hesse. A masked perpetrator entered the building and demanded the handover of cash using a weapon. On the same day, an unknown perpetrator robbed a petrol station in Ruhla, Thuringia, using a weapon to demand cash from the employee.
On 09th July 2025, an unknown individual demanded cash while brandishing a weapon at a gaming arcade in Diedorf, Bavaria. Two days later, an armed robbery occurred at a petrol station in Ruhla, Thuringia. In the early hours of Wednesday, two masked perpetrators robbed a gaming arcade in Heringen, Hesse, threatening the employee with a weapon and making off with cash.
The total amount of cash stolen during the spree of petrol station and gaming arcade robberies is almost 10,000 euros. During subsequent searches, extensive evidence, including firearms, was secured.
The authorities continue to investigate the full extent of the group's activities, possible accomplices, and recovery of stolen assets. This spate of robberies serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement agencies in tackling organised crime.
