Artificial Intelligence advancements and aquatic robots aiding in eel care showcased at IFA event
IFA 2025: Innovation for All in Berlin
The International Consumer Electronics Show (IFA) returns to Berlin from September 5 to September 7, 2025, with a focus on innovation that is accessible to all. This year, the event will showcase over 1,900 exhibitors, including big names like Sony, Microsoft, Samsung, and NVIDIA, as well as many more.
IFA is targeting a younger audience this year, specifically Gen Z, by offering better working conditions for social media stars and influencers. Influencers and content creators can stream from professional studios and use a stage for live formats at the Palais am Funkturm.
The fair will feature a wide range of products, from home electronics and gaming devices to digital health innovations. Artificial intelligence applications and innovative household robots are a key focus, with modern ovens using AI support to suggest recipes, select optimal cooking programs, and calculate baking time without opening the door or using a toothpick test.
Robots are increasingly taking over daily household tasks, according to market research firm NIQ. Modern lawn mowers no longer require boundary cables and can independently determine where they can move using AI, allowing them to navigate around obstacles like hedgehogs. Cleaning robots can also recognize obstacles on the floor, such as a shoelace on a carpet, and avoid vacuuming them up.
Healthy eating is a major theme at IFA, with air fryers currently popular among small electrical appliances. These devices address themes of healthy eating, energy efficiency, speed, and easy preparation. Sustainability is also a major focus, with experts estimating that refurbished devices currently account for around ten percent of the market for smartphones.
Visitors can test out the latest E-bikes and E-scooters at the Mobility Track. The program concludes on September 7 with Jan BΓΆhmermann and Olli Schulz and their podcast "Fest & Flauschig".
Admission for adults is β¬19.50, and children under 15 can visit the fair for free. The program for Generation Z is supplemented by a "Beauty Hub" focused on care products and a gaming area. On September 4, German rock singer Deine Cousine, Evil Jared and Krogi, along with Sorvina, Danilo Timm, and Anne West, will perform at the IFA's open-air program. Joy Denalane and Max Herre will perform on September 5. Ikkimel will perform with guests on September 6, with over 10,000 tickets already sold.
IFA CEO Leif Lindner stated that the abbreviation IFA no longer stands for "Internationale Funkausstellung," but for "Innovation For All." Artificial intelligence is the "invisible operating system" of IFA, changing the way people think, work, and communicate, and will be experiential throughout the fair. Don't miss out on the opportunity to experience the future of technology at IFA 2025.
