Artificial intelligence-driven cybersecurity training facility set to generate over 200 employment opportunities in Maryland
IronCircle, an AI-powered cybersecurity training platform, has chosen Columbia, Maryland as the location for its new headquarters. This move affirms Maryland's growing status as the cyber capital of America.
The decision to relocate was influenced by Maryland's cyber-defense hubs, according to the governor's office. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore attended the celebration of the new headquarters, expressing his excitement about partnering with IronCircle in the state's efforts to make Maryland more competitive.
IronCircle is a cybersecurity education provider that focuses on simulating complex, real-world scenarios reflective of today's evolving cybersecurity threats. The platform is used by universities and businesses globally.
Maryland is a thriving information technology (I.T.) hub. With nearly 19,000 I.T. businesses supporting over 124,000 jobs and generating nearly $80 billion in economic activity, the region is home to a significant number of cyber-skilled roles. More than 24% of job postings in the region are for such roles.
The average starting salaries for cyber-skilled roles in Maryland exceed $100,000, making it an attractive location for technology companies like IronCircle. Howard County, where the new headquarters is located, is at the heart of the nation's cybersecurity efforts. It is home to nearly 300 cybersecurity companies and a global leader in cyber innovation.
Howard County is also strategically located close to Fort Meade and Baltimore Washington International Airport, home to the National Security Agency and U.S. Cyber Command.
Gov. Moore emphasised the importance of doubling down on industries of the future like cyber and AI. He stated, "By doubling down on industries of the future like cyber and AI, our administration is growing Maryland's economy and building new pathways to work, wages, and wealth for all."
Adam Thompson, a digital content producer for our Baltimore, was also present at the celebration. The relocation of IronCircle's headquarters is expected to create over 200 jobs in Maryland.
