Assessing the Success of Nuremberg's 2025 Outdoor Swimming Season: An Evaluation
Nuremberg's Public Baths See Increased Visitors and Successful 2025 Season
\n\n Autumn has signaled the end of the 2025 outdoor swimming season in Nuremberg, but not without a record-breaking year for the city's public baths. According to Christian Vogel, Mayor and First Executive Director of NuernbergBad, the season was a resounding success, with approximately 200,000 people visiting Nuremberg's public baths.
\n\n The season started late in May, followed by a record-breaking hot June, which attracted a significant number of bathers. In total, over 20,000 guests visited the municipal saunas, marking an increase of around 4,000 more visitors than last year. Indoor pools also saw a surge in popularity, with about 30,000 more bathers during the same period.
\n\n However, July was very rainy, and August was partly warm but also changeable, which led to a decrease in visitor numbers compared to the same period last year, with about 10,000 fewer people visiting the baths. Despite the changeable weather, the season remained safe and accident-free, with no significant injuries reported.
\n\n Some of the popular bathing spots, such as the West Bath and Stadium Bath and Nature Garden Bath, will close on September 15 and September 8, respectively. The West Bath will reopen on September 16, following summer revision, along with Katzwang Bath. Suedstadt Bath is currently undergoing summer revision and will reopen on September 13.
\n\n In addition to the closing of bathing spots, NurembergBad has announced that the Annual Dog Bath Day will take place on September 21, from 10 am to 4 pm. The Hundebad-Tage at the Stadtbad Nuremberg will also take place from September 18 to September 20 this year.
\n\n If the weather remains warm, the West Bath might be extended, providing bathers with an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors for a little longer. Langwasser Bath is open, including outdoor sunbathing areas, for those who wish to soak up the remaining sun.
\n\n Mayor Vogel expressed his satisfaction with the season and praised the peaceful and harmonious atmosphere at the baths. He looks forward to welcoming visitors back next year for another successful season at Nuremberg's public baths. NurembergBad will announce any extensions separately.
