At the central station, an individual was found to be slumbering, under arrest
In an early morning operation on August 26, 2025, the Bundespolizei-Einsatzzentrale Dresden conducted a routine check at Dresden Central Station, leading to the arrest of a 19-year-old German individual.
The incident unfolded around 00:30, when officers discovered the suspect sleeping in the dome hall of the station. Upon approaching him, they found that he had no identification documents and a subsequent check of his details revealed an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Dresden Local Court.
The warrant was related to offenses such as benefit fraud, theft, property damage, forgery, and attempted computer fraud. However, further proceedings revealed that the arrest was also connected to the embezzlement of a mobile phone. The mobile phone found on the arrested individual was reported as stolen.
During the search, a ready-to-use pocket knife was also discovered, leading to a separate report being filed for violating the weapons law. The 19-year-old stated he found the embezzled mobile phone a few days ago at the post office and kept it because it was not locked.
After completion of the police measures, the man was handed over to a detention facility. The officers then took him to the Federal Police Station at the main station for further proceedings.
