ASI Show Orlando 2019: A Successful Gathering of Business Professionals

Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. graced the ASI Show Orlando 2019 as the keynote speaker, delivering an inspiring address that resonated with the 4,700 attendees. The annual trade show, held at Florida's Orange County Convention Center, attracted exhibitors and distributors from 49 states and 25 countries.

Ripken's keynote speech, which took place on the final exhibit day, was praised by Gary Weitzmann, a distributor, as inspiring and applicable to business. He advised entrepreneurs to have passion, preparation, and perseverance for success in business, and emphasized the importance of detailed mental preparation in both sports and business.

The ASI Show Orlando 2019 also featured a strong attendance, with 821 attendees from Florida, 284 women-owned, and 252 minority-owned companies. Seventeen distributor companies chose Orlando to host their sales meetings, including many Counselor® Top 40 companies.

The trade show was a bustling hub of activity, with over 820 businesspeople attending Education Day, enjoying new tracks and classes on various subjects. Over 400 people mingled during the New Product Preview Reception, and the ASI Show Bash at Universal CityWalk attracted over 800 people, despite early rain.

Rita Ugianskis-Fishman, senior vice president and general manager of ASI Show, expressed satisfaction with the strong attendance at Orlando. ASI President and Chief Executive Officer Timothy M. Andrews also expressed joy at seeing many young people at the show.

Supplier Cody Larsen, of Gamehide (asi/46701), stated that attending the show every year allows them to stay in front of customers and network. Distributor John Perrigo, of Image Branding Group (asi/230096), attended the ASI Show for the first time and found it exceeded his expectations.

Digispec (asi/49716), founded and owned by Ed Hamilton, was named 2019 Counselor Supplier of the Year and won the top spot in the mouse pads category for 12 straight years. Orlando marked the 65th anniversary of Counselor magazine, the 86th birthday of ASI Chairman Norman Cohn, and the annual Counselor Distributor Choice Awards.

Looking ahead, upcoming ASI Shows are scheduled for Fort Worth, featuring a special keynote by First Lady Laura Bush and her daughter, Jenna Hager, and in Chicago, featuring TEDx speaker Luke Williams. The success of ASI Show Orlando 2019 serves as a testament to the value and impact of these events in the promotional products industry.
