On September 2, 2025, at around 11:00 AM, a violent handbag snatching attempt took place in Heinrichstraße, Gera, Germany. The victim, a 67-year-old woman, resisted the attack and managed to remain unharmed.

The police are currently searching for the suspect, who is described as a male, approximately 175-180 cm tall, slim, with dark blonde short hair, stubble, wearing a beige hoodie, dark blue jeans, and a black backpack. The incident reference number for this case is 0228824/2025.

During the incident, an attentive security officer intervened, causing the suspect to flee towards the nearby shopping center. As of the writing, the suspect remains at large.
