In the early hours of Friday, August 8, 2025, a break-in occurred on Max-von-Laue-Straße in the Wolfsburg district. The incident took place at a business premises, and the suspect, a 36-year-old individual of unknown residence, originating from Eastern Europe, was apprehended by the police.

Upon receiving the alarm, several police units were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the suspect had forced entry into the building through a window, but upon the police officers' arrival, he fled the building through another window.

The Public Prosecutor's Office in Braunschweig requested a warrant for the suspect's detention, which was issued by a judge based in Braunschweig on Friday afternoon. The apprehended individual was subsequently taken to a detention facility.

No stolen goods were found on the suspect, suggesting he may have been interrupted during the commission of his crime. A masked individual was apprehended in a bush on Marie-Curie-Allee by a patrol unit, but it is unclear if this was connected to the break-in.
