In an incident that took place on September 6, a 16-year-old driver from Bochum was involved in a traffic accident in Witten, Germany. The event unfolded after a high-speed chase that began in Bochum.
The police attempted to stop a car in the Unterstraße area of Bochum-Langendreer around 3:30 AM. However, the driver ignored the police stop signs and fled, driving at excessive speeds. The license plates of the stolen vehicle had been swapped and replaced with stolen ones from Bochum-Langendreer.

A breathalyzer test showed a reading of 0.42 percent for the 16-year-old driver from Bochum, and a blood sample was taken for further analysis. The driver now faces a comprehensive criminal complaint, including charges of auto theft, driving without a license, and endangering traffic.
The vehicle was seized, and the estimated property damage is over 20,000 euros. The available search results do not provide the name of the police officer in Bochum who coordinated the media coverage of the incident.
