Authorities seek additional eyewitness accounts.
On the morning of July 24, 2025, a shocking act of arson took place on a car in Stubbenhuk street, Elmshorn. At approximately 2:30 AM, a VW CC car with Peine license plates was found fully engulfed in flames.
The Elmshorn Criminal Police Department is leading the investigations into the arson case. A cyclist, who witnessed the incident, pursued the two suspects but lost sight of them as they ran onto a school grounds and were not seen again.
The description of the suspects remains as men, approximately 180-185 cm tall, and dressed in black. The public is being asked to provide any useful information about the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Elmshorn Criminal Police Department via the telephone number 04121-803-0.
The initial damage estimate for the car is approximately 15,000 EUR. The cyclist returned to the scene of the crime upon the instructions of the deployed forces. The chase went through Stubbenhuk, Besenbeker, and Turn streets.
