Break-ins in Recklinghausen and Dorsten: Police Investigate Possible Connections
In a series of break-ins over the past few days, several establishments in the cities of Recklinghausen and Dorsten have been targeted. The perpetrators have shown a methodical approach, forcing their way into buildings and searching for valuable items.
The first incident occurred at a butcher's shop on Philipp-Reis-Straße in Recklinghausen. Unknown perpetrators broke in between 22:30 and 5:30 on Friday night, emptying a fire extinguisher and damaging the cash collection points. Two cash registers were stolen.
In the same night, a neighboring company was also broken into. Details about the stolen goods are not yet available. An employee who was in the building encountered an unknown perpetrator around 3 am. The perpetrator was described as about 1.70m tall, thin, and wearing a black "complete mask" with openings for the eyes.
A burglary also took place in a semi-detached house on Kronstädter Straße between Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The perpetrators forced open a balcony door on the first floor of the house. At least jewelry was stolen during the burglary, but details about the stolen goods are not yet available.
In Dorsten, a furniture store on Marler Straße was broken into between 19:15 on Friday and 8:20 on Saturday. Two cash registers were broken into and the cash inside was stolen. The perpetrators initially attempted to gain access to the house via the door to the winter garden, but this failed. They then forced open a window to enter the store.
